Ireland Says Yes – Book Launch

What a momentous night Thursday was –  at the ‘Ireland Says Yes‘ book launch, It took place in the beautiful setting of The Pillar Room where Yes Equality launched its Marriage Equality campaign all those months ago, wonderful to be back there celebrating a Yes win and it was  great to meet so many Marriage Equality heroes on the night. Fantastic speeches from Grainne Healy, Brian Sheehan, Noel Whelan, Panti & Ursula Halligan.

“At 7.20pm on 23rd May 2015, in the courtyard of Dublin Castle, Ireland truly became a nation of equals. Ireland Says Yes is the fast-paced narrative account of all the drama, excitement and highs and lows of the last 100 days of the extraordinary campaign for a Yes vote in the 2015 Marriage Equality Referendum.

Those who led the Yes Equality campaign tell the inside story of how the referendum was won, and how Ireland’s two principal gay and lesbian rights organisations put together the most effective and successful civic society campaign ever launched in Irish politics.

As well as a drama-packed chronological account of how the Yes campaign was executed, the book explores how social media mobilised a new generation of voters to the polls and how political parties, student unions and youth groups co-ordinated their efforts to deliver one of the most historic referendum results in Irish political history.”

One of my brick creations features in the book.

If you would like a print of any of these images please get in contact.

Baby Max Wings of Love Fund was founded by Darina Ní Chuinneagáin & Declan Donnelly following the tragic death of their son Max, 10 years ago to Meningitis B & Meningococcal Septicaemia. The first goal of the fund was to purchase a badly needed ‘haemofiltration machine’ for Temple Street Children’s Hospital that they did not have at the time and had to borrow from another hospital. They were delighted to accomplish this through hard work, dedication and the support of many people. To read more about the wonderful work that Darina and her husband Declan do please head over to
